Goodbye 2017!

What a year it has been at Kettle Moraine Counseling!  It's been a good year for us, and we had some challenges along the way, but we continue to grow and try and meet the needs of our communities.

The biggest news is that we opened a 3rd location in Oak Creek, an area that is really under served for counseling/mental health services.  We have only been open a short time but it is already getting quite busy.

We added new therapists in 2017: Caitlin Yogerst, LaQuita Jones, and Michael Shreiner.   Rebekah Wolff and Lisa Oliver were with us in 2016, but have greatly expanded their case loads in 2017.  Michelle Bingen decided to go out on her own in 2017 and we continue to wish her the best.

I was elected to the board of directors for the Youth and Family Project in September and I look forward to helping them to grow and help those who need services.  It's a good organization, one I used to volunteer at years ago and am happy to get reacquainted with..

For administrative staff we have added Kristine Menke and Susan Krueger this year.  They are both talented kind women and I am so glad they are working here.  When you call in to the general line, chances are you will get one of them on the phone.

Lynn Gillian Nowak took classes on Clinical Supervision and also received her clinical supervisor in training credential in June 2017.  She has been providing supervision/consultation to our staff for any substance abuse concerns and this has been helping our therapists grow professionally.

We decided to increase the opportunities for staff to participate in group collaboration this year, on top of the individual supervision given, and to also separate out our meetings into a group focusing on children's issues,  one for adult/couples issues and a general group.  Deb Graf and Julianne Morrison will be leading those groups, 2 therapists I highly respect and have a lot of wisdom/experience.   So we are offering a variety of ways/times for our staff to continue to grow and get the support they need/want.

2017 allowed us to continue our collaboration with other local agencies and to identify unmet needs in our community.  I am always willing to explore how we can help!  We have met with organizations in Ozaukee, Milwaukee and Washington counties and will continue to be a presence whenever asked!  We have also provided financial support as able to local agencies.

I end the year feeling blessed, even for the challenges we have encountered.  For our challenges stretch us and allow us to grow beyond our edges.

Thank you all our providers, clients and referring agencies/people.  We will continue to hold up our end of the bargain in providing the best care we can!

May 2018 be a year of contentment, peace and healing,

Devona Marshall
